Todd Riviera: Rapha?l, you’ve had a fascinating journey. Can you share a bit about how you discovered your clairvoyant abilities?
Rapha?l Pathé: My journey into the world of clairvoyance began when I was just three years old. I vividly remember seeing shapes and spirits in my bedroom at night, which at first terrified me. I slept on the first floor of our family home, while the rest of my family stayed upstairs, so I often felt isolated. Some of the spirits I saw were unsettling, but there was always one benevolent presence—my grandmother, who had passed before I was born. It was her protective energy that made me realize I had a connection to the spirit world.
As I grew older, I started experimenting with my mind’s ability to influence events. During high school, I would predict things, such as who would form couples or what might happen next in people’s lives, and my friends started to rely on me for guidance. It wasn’t until I turned 18, while living in London, that I began giving full readings. People would line up to see me, which left me both exhausted and amazed. My abilities began to shape my path forward.
Later, during my time in France at my parents’ beach house, I encountered the spirit of a man named Fernand. He had unresolved issues with my ancestors, who had repossessed the house he once owned. I helped him find peace, which ultimately resolved a karmic entanglement for me as well. That experience of assisting spirits became a significant part of my life. It marked the beginning of my work as a professional medium, which has taken me across the world.
Todd Riviera: How did you transition from your career in entertainment to fully embracing your gift as a clairvoyant?
Rapha?l Pathé: Before diving into mediumship, I had built a career as an entertainer. In 2010, I produced and hosted a show called The Sound of Luxury TV, where I DJed in luxury hotels around the world. It caught the eye of Larry Namer, the co-founder of E! Entertainment. There was even talk of featuring me in his show Hello! Hollywood for the Chinese market, where I’d host a segment about music and luxury.
When I moved to Los Angeles, things took an unexpected turn. I lived in a house that was haunted, and this negative energy consumed me. A local psychic, Michelle, told me that my path had shifted and that I needed to focus on my psychic abilities. From that moment on, I embraced mediumship fully. I started offering readings at events, and soon after, my Hollywood clientele grew. While my dream had always been centered around entertainment, I realized that mediumship was the gift I was meant to share with the world. It gave me purpose, and I found a way to combine both passions.
Todd Riviera: Your upcoming show, Talk2Spirits, is about more than just mediumship. Can you tell us how your family legacy plays a role in it?
Rapha?l Pathé: Absolutely. My family legacy is something I hold close to my heart. My great-great-grandfather, Jacques Pathé, was one of the founders of Pathé, the iconic cinema and music brand that started in 1896 in Paris. That creative energy has always been a part of me. In Talk2Spirits, I tell my own story, but it’s deeply connected to this legacy. My journey is about more than just my psychic abilities; it’s about continuing the Pathé tradition of entertainment and innovation in a completely new way. I’m blending music, mediumship, and performance to create something that honors both my heritage and my personal path.
Todd Riviera: You’ve been compared to mediums like Tyler Henry and Theresa Caputo. How does your approach to mediumship differ from theirs?
Rapha?l Pathé: I have great respect for both Tyler Henry and Theresa Caputo, but I wanted to do something different. For Talk2Spirits, I added a bit of glitter and creativity to make it more like a one-man show. Mediumship can be intense, and I believe that creating lighter moments during the show allows people to release the emotional pressure. It helps them honor their loved ones while also celebrating life, much like the Día de los Muertos in Mexico. Death isn’t something to be feared—it can be a celebration of life and love, and that’s what I’m trying to convey with my show.
I also drew inspiration from Walter Mercado, the beloved Mexican astrologer. He brought joy and positivity to his audience, and I want to do the same. Plus, to make this experience unique, I designed my own costume and learned how to use a sewing machine while living in Athens. It allowed me to express my creativity even further, blending my love for fashion with the performance aspect of the show.
Todd Riviera: Puerto Vallarta is an incredible destination. What made you choose The Palm Cabaret for the premiere of Talk2Spirits?
Rapha?l Pathé: Puerto Vallarta has always been a magical place for me. It’s vibrant, welcoming, and has a deep connection to spiritual and artistic expression. The Palm Cabaret is a legendary venue with a reputation for hosting world-class performers, and I’m thrilled to bring Talk2Spirits to their stage. It’s the perfect place for a show like this, where I can connect with the audience on a deeper level and offer something truly unique.
The culture here, especially the way people celebrate Día de los Muertos, aligns perfectly with the message of my show. In Mexico, death is often celebrated with music, color, and joy—very different from the dark and somber way it’s viewed in many other cultures. I want to bring that same energy to Talk2Spirits by showing that connecting with the spirit world can be a beautiful and uplifting experience.
Todd Riviera: You’ve traveled all over the world, but how do you stay grounded in such a demanding career?
Rapha?l Pathé: Staying grounded is crucial for me. I live by the ocean, which has become my sanctuary. Being close to the water helps me cleanse my energy and recharge. Every day, I reach out to my spiritual guides and take time for self-care, whether it’s drawing a crystal card or simply enjoying nature. It’s also important for me to stay organized, both mentally and physically. I keep my space tidy and my mind clear so that I can focus on my work without being overwhelmed by external chaos.
And, of course, creating music, writing, and performing are all outlets for me to express my energy. These creative processes allow me to balance my life as a medium with my passion for the arts. It’s a constant dance between the spiritual and the material worlds, and I’ve learned to navigate both with respect and purpose.
Todd Riviera: What’s the most memorable reading you’ve ever done?
Rapha?l Pathé: One of the most powerful readings I’ve done was at a birthday party in West Hollywood. I was hired to do readings in a library, and during one session with the birthday girl, I felt a strong presence of someone who had recently passed. I didn’t know that her father had died just two days earlier. She left the reading to cut the cake, and when she announced his passing to the guests, everything clicked. I went back to the library, and her father’s spirit came through so strongly, almost like the ceiling turned gold. It was a beautiful message, and she was deeply moved by the connection. Moments like that remind me of the incredible power of what I do.
Todd Riviera: What are your future plans with Talk2Spirits?
Rapha?l Pathé: Talk2Spirits is just the beginning. I want to take this show beyond Puerto Vallarta, maybe even bring it to TV. I also have a book in the works about my family’s legacy, and I’d love to see that story become a film someday. My goal is to continue blending entertainment and spirituality, offering people an experience that is both profound and joyous.
Everyone should go see the show Raphael is a very gifted individual!
