Our interview process is roughly 3-4 interviews depending on the type of role you apply for. Please note, not all roles are the same, some may require additional or different steps but here is a good idea of what to expect!
Recruiter screen?
The first step in our interview process is a 30 minute phone call with one of our recruiters. The recruiter will give you a rough idea of what the role is all about. We’ll ask you about your current/past experiences and a few role specific questions. We’ll also dig in to see why you’re interested in Plenty of Fish and why you think you’d be a great match.
Hiring manager interview?
The next step of the process includes a 30-45 minute video interview over zoom with the Hiring Manager. This is a great time for you to get to know each other, after all this could be a potential manager, so ask questions! The Hiring Manager will take a deep dive into the role, and answer any specific questions that you may have, then they will focus on your experience at a more granular level. For instance: how well do your past and current experiences prepare you to meet the requirements of the role??
Top 3 tips:
Technical interview / Panel interview
Depending on the role that you applied for, this interview step is used to understand your technical skills. Generally the Technical Interview or Panel Interview will last between 60-90 minutes, and will include potential team members and other cross functional employees. If you have applied for an Engineering role, your technical interview may include a live coding or whiteboard exercise on CoderPad , along with technical questions from the team. Most of our business type roles will include a case study, or relevant technical questions that focus on your areas of expertise.

WHO interview?
The WHO is the final interview where we review your resume chronologically to gain some insight into your career progression and how you got to where you are today. This interview will last around 90 minutes depending on your work history and will be with someone from our HR team and your future manager! We will ask the same questions for each role that you have been in, such as “what were you hired to do” or “what are you most proud of during that time?” these questions really help us understand what is important to you in your previous roles and feedback that you have received in the past. We always say that there is nothing that you need to do to prepare for this interview, so just be yourself :)
