Inviting someone to join you in your podcast soon? Here are a few tips that can make this experience more fun and enjoyable for you and your guest!
Number 1: Make Sure Your Technology Works
The worst thing is to get someone on Zoom for a podcast and for your microphone or headphones to stop working. Make sure you test all of your equipment ahead of time, and also make sure you know how to fi x some common issues that might appear on your guests side like they’re input/ output device not being selected appropriately.
Number 2: Do Your Background Research
You should definitely know who your guest is. Know some specifics about their background that you can ask about, and reference some of their theories related to your subject matter that they will feel very energized to speak about.

Number 3: Chat Before Recording
It's a great idea to just have a friendly conversation for just a few minutes before you start recording. During this time, you can build some rapport, set expectations on how the process is going to work, and ask them if they have any questions for you. This will also put people at ease as some people can be a little tense when first logging on to a podcast interview.
Number 4: Ask for a Specific Introduction from Your Guest
The best ay to do this is to incorporate it into your Calendly on-boarding process. This is helpful because they may be working on a project or something that they just released that they want you to talk about.
The goal is here is to make the conversation with your guest as natural and as smooth as possible, and you can definitely do that by doing some of the prep work mentioned above.
