Interview With Marius (Google Ads Freelancer & Consultant)
Omar Reyes
Freelance Google Ads Specialist | Helping Painting Companies Generate Leads Online
1) Where were you born and raised? Also tell us something unique about yourself.
I was born and raised in Karlsruhe, south west Germany. I'm the youngest of 5 (yes five) siblings. Moved out from home when I was 18, studied in Mannheim and went to Berlin in 2015. I was always fascinated by the city. And actually chose the city over work. I love to go out, dance, eat good food and meet people who are progressive and adventurous about life.
So Berlin always felt like a natural place to be for me. In 2023 I moved in a campervan with my girflfriend for 14 months. Travelled Europe. And lived "the life". Still I am happy to be at my desk again and have a place to call home. I really enjoy trying different ways of life. To realize: What we do in society is not so bad after all. haha.
2) What got you interested in marketing and what was your journey?
I actually studied business and math and was after a trading career for quite a while. At least until I realized I don't want to wear a suit to work. So I quit my working student job and went to Berlin after I finished my masters. I dreamed about contributing to a startup. Move something. And somehow... The jobs with the most number crunching happened to be in marketing.
So I started working in Google Ads in my first two jobs. Finally in 2018 i started freelancing. Since then I had plenty of highs and lows. Still for me it's clear: I won't ever be employed again.
3) What skills and industry do you specialize in?
I only offer Google Ads services for my clients. Except for german dentists: I offer solutions to fill their dental practice with the patients they actually want. I offer Google Ads, Google Maps and SEO in order to make their practice stand out in local search results. For Google Ads experts I share all I know about the platform on LinkedIn and in my newsletter.
4) What is your best soft skill?
Empathy.
5) What softwares and tools do you use regularly?
Authored up, Canva, Cap Cut, Chat GPT, Google Ads, Localo
6) What are your goals for the next year and into the future?
I want to stay active on Linkedin and serve my clients. Want to onboard 3 more dentists this year. Other than that: Stick to things that are fun for me. And ditch things that are not. If I can make a living of this I am happy.

7) What has been the hardest thing you dealt with in your career path?
People telling me I am not good enough. And I believed them because I didn't know better.
8) What is the biggest mistake you made that you want others to avoid?
To not ask for help when you need it. To be honest I am still bad at this.
9) Who are your favorite people in the industry that you follow?
There are so many great experts in the field. Denie Geertzen has great insights, so does Brent Naele, Adriaan Dekker , Miles McNair , Tomasz Abbott-Wieczorek . But this is a very incomplete list. :D
10) Who has had the biggest influence on your career to date?
11) What has been your favorite course that you taken and why?
100M Dollar offers by Alex Hormozi . I guess it's a course in a book. It gave me a whole new perspective in how to approach and treat your prospects.
12) What would you tell yourself or someone who is just starting out in marketing?
Offer help, fail fast, reach out to people for help. And switch jobs rather sooner than later.
13) If the entire world was listening to you, what would you have to say?
Be kind and think about what your actions mean for others.
14) Where can we find you?
On Linkedin or in a Berliner park every Thursday for some electronic music https://www.instagram.com/blaumannberlin?igsh=dXJ4OXR5cDNjZTZ4
Ich verhelfe dir zu deinem Wunschpatientenstamm in deiner Zahnarztpraxis. Ohne deine wertvolle Zeit zu beanspruchen.
