Interview With Jordan (Head of PPC)
1) Where were you born and raised? Also tell us something unique about yourself.
I was born in Middlesbrough in the North East of England and have been here ever since, wouldn't change it for the world. Something unique about myself is that over the last 10 years or so I've put around 10,000 hours into playing Football Manager, not sure whether to be proud or ashamed but at least I'm consistent.
2) What got you interested in marketing and what was your journey?
I studied Games Design in college and always struggled with the technical aspect so what stood out to me was the marketing aspect. Instead of going to university I applied for an apprenticeship in marketing at a small agency. Once that had finished I was given the chance to specialise in PPC at a fast growing marketing agency full of experts.
3) What skills and industry do you specialize in?
I'm specialised in Google Ads specifically with a wide knowledge of Shopping Feed Optimization. I don't particularly specialise in any industry but I do have my favourites. Fashion, Sports and even Bushcraft!
4) What is your best soft skill?
I'd love to say organisation but I'm a bit all over the place sometimes. I'd probably say my best soft skill is my dependability. My clients know what they're going to get with me and it's why I've built up strong relationships with so many.
5) What softwares and tools do you use regularly?
Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Meet, Looker Studio, FeedOptimise & Shoptimised.
6) What are your goals for the next year and into the future?
I have a few goals in mind. I'd love to learn more about Meta Ads and be comfortable working across both Google and Social Media. Another goal (and I say this every year) would be to post regularly on LinkedIn.
7) What has been the hardest thing you dealt with in your career path?
I've always been a massive telephobe (phone call anxiety) so dealing with that when I first stepped into a marketing job was quite a struggle. I still struggle occasionally but it's something I'm adjusted to and prepare for in advance.

8) What is the biggest mistake you made that you want others to avoid?
Don't stay in a workplace that makes you unhappy. The last thing you want when the workday is over is to be obsessing over what's going to happen tomorrow. When you finish with work, have some you time.
9) Who are your favorite people in the industry that you follow?
Adriaan Dekker , Miles McNair , Bob Meijer , Kirk Williams , Frederick Vallaeys , Mike Rhodes ?? & Lewis Kemp . Probably more that I'm forgetting but these are who I've learned a lot from whether it's LinkedIn posts, PPC Mastery or books that they've wrote.
10) Who has had the biggest influence on your career to date?
I'd have to say my first manager in PPC and somebody I work with still to this day, Chris Hankinson.
11) What has been your favorite course that you taken and why?
PPC Mastery from Miles McNair and Bob Meijer , hands down. It's the best way to stay up to date with current changes in the PPC climate. Honourable mention for Isaac Rudansky 's Google Ads course on Udemy, it was a great starting point in my first year learning and I'd recommend it to any beginners.
12) What would you tell yourself or someone who is just starting out in marketing?
Learn from your mistakes and don't dwell on them too much. Don't be afraid to ask questions and take notes. There are so many resources out there for learning so take advantage of that.
13) If the entire world was listening to you, what would you have to say?
You can't do a good job if your job is all you do. Make time for your passions outside of work whether it be spending time with friends or family or just playing a game.
14) Where can we find you?
I'm simple, just LinkedIn.
