Interview Not Interrogate - Few Tips For Interviewers....

Just a thought for interviewers :

  1. - Interview candidate not interrogate.
  2. - Introduce yourself first before the interviewee.
  3. -Introduce the Job details and highlight three major Key Areas before interviewee start. 
  4. - Screen the resume at least 10 minutes prior to schedule 
  5. - Prepare your questions and keep the questions with you.
  6. - Converse to Convert the situation from Q&A to Win -Win way. 
  7. - Ask 80% same set of questions to all the aspirants to judge the situational revert. 
  8. - if possible, try to ask the question in same sequence to compare the best fit. 
  9. - 70% Listen, 30% Talk
  10. - Follow Sandwich pattern : Start with Positive, then focus on Subject related and End with positive.
  11. - One behavioral question speaks all - prepare for the same and include in list. 
  12. - One Competency based question - first figure out which is most important competency (must to have) for the respective role and include one question related to competency.
  13. - Three Open ended question related to subject to be followed with One follow up question each ( candidate will substantiate facts and figures with deep dive on subject). 
  14. - Interview question slot distribution - 20% of time on behavioral question , 40% of time on technical questions, 20% of time on competency and situational questions, 10 % - Intro pitch, 10% - closing pitch. 

Bonus Tip : Decide on Deductive reasoning ( General to specific) to Inductive Reasoning (Specific to General) while you decide your subject related questions.
