Interview With Florijan (Google Ads PPC Specialist)

Where were you born and raised? Also tell us something unique about yourself.

I was born on August 8, 1998, in Kosovo, and I currently reside in the capital city, Prishtina. Something unique about me is my passion for goalkeeping in sports and my love for strategy video games like Total War and Age of Empires.

What got you interested in marketing, and what was your journey?

My academic background is in Political Sciences, but my journey into marketing began through successful website projects. Over the past seven years, I've honed my skills as a PPC Specialist, primarily working with universities and e-commerce sites in the U.S.

What skills and industry do you specialize in?

I specialize in PPC, particularly in the industries of higher education and e-commerce. My focus lately has been on optimizing for Profit on Ad Spend (POAS) at ProfitMetrics.

What is your best soft skill?

Communication stands out as my strongest soft skill. Effective communication is crucial in the dynamic world of digital marketing, ensuring seamless collaboration with clients and colleagues.

What software and tools do you use regularly?

I regularly use ChatGPT, Semrush , Canva , and other tools to enhance my PPC strategies and streamline workflow.

What are your goals for the next year and into the future?

In the coming year, I aim to further refine my skills in POAS bidding and contribute significantly to ProfitMetrics' success. Looking into the future, I aspire to stay at the forefront of evolving digital marketing trends and possibly explore leadership roles.

What has been the hardest thing you dealt with in your career path?

The transition to POAS bidding at ProfitMetrics presented a learning curve, but it has been a rewarding challenge. Adapting to new methodologies and strategies has been both difficult and enlightening.

What is the biggest mistake you made that you want others to avoid?

One important lesson is to always stay updated with industry trends. Earlier in my career, not adapting quickly enough to changes led to some setbacks. Continuous learning is key.

Who are your favorite people in the industry that you follow?

Denie Geertzen ?? , Frederik Boysen , Miles McNair .

Who has had the biggest influence on your career to date?

Definitely Dennis Yu .

What has been your favorite course that you've taken and why?

To be honest I’m not a big fan of courses, I prefer the learn by doing method since that is the most successful one in my opinion.

What would you tell yourself or someone who is just starting out in marketing?

Embrace change and continuous learning. The digital marketing landscape evolves rapidly, and adaptability is crucial. Also, build a strong network and seek mentorship.

If the entire world was listening to you, what would you have to say?

Marketing is always the same, just the methods change – keeping this in mind will make your job easier.

Where can we find you?

You can find me on my Facebook Profile and here on LinkedIn, where I share insights into PPC and digital marketing.
