Interview with Coach Sahar
Dr Shuchi Sharma

Coach Sahar shared her very unique and interesting journey on the SHEreads Monthly Meetup where she talked about how her book Twice Born came about. She detailed how the book just flowed through her. An accomplished coach and author, Sahar Gharachorlou is a metaphysical therapist and a life coach and has dedicated more than 14 years of her life to guiding and facilitating her students and clients to find answers to their most heart wrenching questions and empowering them to heal their wounded selves and take complete charge of their lives.
Coach Sahar believes that our life is nothing but a web of patterns---of our beliefs entwined in a marvelous design that shapes our experiences. If these patterns are positive, we thrive, and if they are negative and obsolete, we suffer. Our challenges and pains are an indication of the quality of our belief system. The good news is that you can and do have the ability to change and choose a different life. This is what happened to her and in Twice Born, Coach Sahar shares profound wisdom and learning that unfolded over her years of work with clients. In her book Twice Born , now in the second edition, she bursts the myths of modern-age spirituality and positive thinking. This book is for those with an open , determined and curious mind and a willing heart and a burning desire in their soul to change their life.

1. Would you like to share with your readers a short journey of yourself?
I am Sahar and I am of Iranian origin. I have been living in India since 1996. I have had thirteen international relocations and I call myself a global citizen.
2. Can you tell us about your book?
My book “Twice Born” is a book that is really my story. I never thought I would write about it, but there comes a time when you realize that it is your calling. I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction, and I know that when the Universe decides to put you where you need to be, you get there. When this book came to me, I could not stop it from being birthed through me. I had to deliver the message. There was no escape to save me. It is a spiritual, self-discovery book.
3. What is the key theme and/or message in the book?
The key theme is that there are no short cuts in life. And the powerful message is that there is nothing but only you who are standing in the way of your own happiness. That is what I have brought out as the key message through my book.
4. What do you hope your readers take away from this book?
You know, different people will have different insights and takeaways. My main thought while writing this “Twice Born” was that there is a solution to every challenge, and everything is happening for a reason for everyone. Adversities have gifts of gems hidden within them.
5. What is the significance of the title?
There is a process in Spiritual Awakening where you are reborn into a new dimension of consciousness. I went through this awakening in 2016 and really felt “Twice Born.” I want to add that I shared with the publisher, and they brought out the cover to depict this freedom and joy as a result of awareness.
6. Let’s discuss about your writing … what, in your opinion, are the most essential elements of good writing?
For self-help books clarity, simplicity and application of content shared are the most important.
7. Which authors have you “grown” to like? And which genre do you like?
I am more of non-fiction person. I enjoy Wayne Dyer, Osho and actually so many others.
8. What do you find is the most difficult part of the creative writing process?
To be able to keep the reader engaged and say enough to hold them and keep them interested. I am a non-fiction writer, but as a reader I feel the plot and the characters both need to complement each other.
9. Is there any specific schedule you follow ? How many hours a day do you write(or research or edit related to the book) on an average?
Nothing specific as such, but usually when I sit, it is for a minimum of 2 hours.
10. What advice would you give a new writer, someone just starting out?
You must be authentic and find your own expression. Do not have any fear, just write it out.
11. Would you like to describe your writing space and a typical writing day?
I write in a café. And to help me stay focused , I choose my corner...I can watch people and write for anyone of them. I reach the café by around 10:30-11 and write till about 2 pm. I write it out in longhand and then type it out. I find it difficult to type out the longhand.

12. What would you say is the most interesting part of writing?
The most interesting part is when you read to edit. Sometimes I wonder if I have only written those words.
13. What was the high point of writing this book?
The feedback I received from readers was certainly the high point. I have got calls and emails and messages from people that this book is their Bible, that they could not sleep before writing to me. It is an overwhelming sense of joy that the message I wanted to give has reached them.
14. What perspectives or beliefs have you challenged with this work?
The strong perspective of conformity, belief systems, living unconscious lives and feeling helpless. I hope to have challenged these beliefs.
15. If you had to describe yourself in three words what would they be?
It has to be a “Free Spirited Warrior”
Some quick fun questions now….
