Interview with Bonnie Hayden Cheng: Embracing Kind Leadership In the Workplace

Does kindness fit into leadership and organisational success?

In my opinion, yes.

According to an expert in corporate wellness and creating corporate cultures where people thrive, also yes.

In fact Dr Bonnie Hayden Cheng wrote a book about how kind leadership wins talent and loyalty and leads to organisational success.

We spend so many hours at work, and I personally have the great joy of working with women and talking about the challenges they face in regards to workplace culture and mental and emotional fortitude at work so that they can flourish in their careers.

You can’t perform at your peak, or expert your team perform at theirs, or even find joy at work if your mental health is suffering, which is where kindness and humanity in leadership comes in.

This week on the podcast I had the pleasure of interviewing Bonnie Cheng, author, researcher, associate professor about her work in bringing humanity back into the workplace.

I had the pleasure of hearing Bonnie speak about mental health and helping talent thrive through emotional fitness at a recent summit here in Hong Kong and I know how helpful this topic is for so many women in the workforce.

In this week’s episode of the Aligned Achiever podcast, Bonnie shares more about the return on kindness, why kindness matters, and also her personal journey to becoming an Organisational Psychologist and how she came to doing this work today. It's an amazing episode, and I hope you really enjoy it

You can tune into this episode with Bonnie Cheng over on episode 111 of The Aligned Achiever Podcast at https://siobhanbarnes.com/111
