Interview With Balraj Deosaran
1) Where were you born and raised? Also tell us something unique about yourself.
Queens, NY, I come as a pair as I have a twin brother.
2) What got you interested in marketing and what was your journey?
The combination of selling and psychology really interested me and allowed me to dive into a creative field.
3) What skills and industry do you specialize in?
SEM, Sales, Customer Service, Microsoft Excel, Budget Management, and a few others with a focus in the technology, pharma, and telco industries.
4) What is your best soft skill?
Creativity.
5) What softwares and tools do you use regularly?
Microsoft Office, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google’s suite of online apps (Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc.), SA360, SKAI, Hudson MX, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, and a few others.
6) What are your goals for the next year and into the future?
To increase my salary and diversify my portfolio a bit further but also make time to travel some more.
7) What has been the hardest thing you dealt with in your career path?
Finding the right place of work with the right team. I’ve had multiple jobs that I enjoyed but it wasn’t just where I saw myself for the long haul.

8) What is the biggest mistake you made that you want others to avoid?
Not saving/investing sooner.
9) Who are your favorite people in the industry that you follow?
Seth Godin is the all time favorite.
10) Who has had the biggest influence on your career to date?
A colleague of mine introduced me to an apprenticeship called COOP and that changed the trajectory of my career path.
11) What has been your favorite course that you taken and why?
Consumer Behavior at Brooklyn College. By far one of the most insightful classes that I enjoyed because you learn about the why when someone listens to an ad or just ends up buying something.
12) What would you tell yourself or someone who is just starting out in marketing?
Get your certifications on Google and Microsoft or Facebook and start looking for which role you feel happiest in. Then apply apply apply.
13) If the entire world was listening to you, what would you have to say?
Don’t ever leave any gas in the tank. Give it your all each day.
