Interview with The Axel Group's Recruiter: Bryan Davis
Welcome back to #MeetTheTeamMonday! Check out my interview below with The Axel Group's Recruiter, Bryan Davis.
As a Recruiter, what does your position entail?
As a recruiter my expertise lies within finding quality candidates and helping to improve their current work situation. I play "match maker" for both companies and employees, making sure the needs of both parties are met.
What school did you attend/what degree did you receive?
I attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and received a bachelors degree in economics.
What do you like most about working at The Axel Group?
The work environment at The Axel Group can not be matched anywhere! Everyday I wake up eager to get to the office and have to force myself out at the end of the day. The co-workers I spend everyday with remove any stress that the job may place on me.
Tell me about your family, hobbies and interests.
I spend my weekends with my family. My mother and sister live nearby along with my brand new nephew. After work I spend most of my time on the mats at Jiu-Jitsu. Anything involving Jiu-Jitsu or wrestling grabs my attention.
If you could go anywhere in the world and expense wasn't an issue where would you go and why?
I would pack a duffle bag and move to Costa Rica to work remotely. Costa Rica has beautiful beaches, jungles and rain forests to hike, and an amazing volcano. In my opinion it is the best place to sit back and relax!
What was the first concert you went to? The best concert?
The first concert I ever went to was The Allman Brother's Band at PNC Bank Arts Center. Since then I've been to so many more concerts over the years, I've lost track of the number. It's hard to say which was the best over-all, they've all left me with memories in their own right. My favorite concert recently would definitely be Dead and Company.
What is your favorite season and why?
Easily the summer - warm weather, beaches, and plenty of things to do in New Jersey. There are more concerts, events, and outdoor activities and being able to enjoy it all in the sun or warm night air is something I look forward to every year.
What is something interesting not many people know about you?
I was a lifeguard in Seaside Heights for 3 years and have been on nearly 100 rescues.
What was your dream job as a kid?
I wanted to be a Fireman, you need brains and brawn and you get to save lives. I'd still really like to volunteer for a local station in my free time.
Coffee or Tea?
Tea, but sometimes espresso does the trick in the morning.
Favorite Food?
Authentic Mexican food, not chipotle. Authentic. Mexican. Food.
Would you ever go sky diving?
If it was free I'd go every morning before work, why not?
What is the best advice you have ever gotten?
"Do everything for the scars and stories. Life is too short to slide safely into the casket."
Thank you for taking the time to read my interview with Bryan Davis and keep an eye out for future #MeetTheTeamMondays with The Axel Group!
