INTERVIEW WITH ACTRESS SEAN MIDDLETON RE HER ROLE IN "SPACE CASE" FOR THE HOUSTON COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL
Amy Dixon knocked it out of the park when she gave the finger to the other contestants for the Miss Pine Gate Pageant...one of the most memorable moments in beauty contest history. What were your thoughts when you first read that for your role in the script?
I was excited to play a typical mean girl. The crew would die laughing every time I did a rude gesture, which made it a lot of fun. It was especially funny to them since I was 16 at the time.
Overall, what was the experience like working on such a well-done comedy?
It was one of the best experiences of my life. Everyone involved was so welcoming. Skylar Schanen wrote a terrific script. She was awesome to work with. Zack Scott did a great job of giving direction and adding in the small details. He made me feel very confident in the role.
How did it feel when you were first notified that SPACE CASE had been selected for the Houston Comedy Film Festival?
It was unbelievable!
Are you working on any more film projects for the future?
Not at the moment. I'm wrapping up my senior year of high school right now.
What other acting have you done in the past?
I've had several small roles, but my first supporting role was in Jason Ancona's Proof of Concept/Short The Monarch Guild
What is your favorite type of production...comedy...drama...horror?
I like them all, but comedy is probably my favorite. I would love an opportunity to do horror.
What are your favorite shows and movies?
Bob's Burgers is my all time favorite show. My favorite movie at the moment has to be Good Boys.
Speaking of production, that was the finest in Texas Pageant Hair that Amy Dixon had for the contest. What did it take to produce a hairdo like that for the Miss Pine Gate Pageant?
The makeup and hair artists were crazy good. I actually have super fine hair, so I was in awe of their work. My family couldn't believe it was my real hair.
What does the future hold for you in the entertainment industry?
I love doing film and plan on acting for my entire life. I would love to become a professional actress, so I'll keep working until I get there...even if I'm playing grandma roles by then.
