Hi!
Here are the three most relevant points that I explored during the week and decided to share with you. I hope you find them useful!
In this edition we’ll talk about:
Now, let’s start!
1. Interoceptive Dojos & Jonny Miller in ATX
Last week, I completed my role as a mentor in the most recent version of Nervous System Mastery.
Together with fellow mentors and Jonny Miller, the course's creator, we facilitated sessions known as "Interoceptive Dojos".
Listen to Jonny's interview on the podcast here! ??
These sessions were specifically designed to help participants practice Interoception, which involves becoming more attuned to their bodily sensations, within a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Many of the students have never paid that much attention to their inner landscape, and by narrating their internal experiences, they developed a newfound connection with their own bodies and their emotions.
Super nice stuff and so hard to describe in words!
If you haven't checked NSM yet, I strongly encourage you to do so! This course will bring a new angle to improve the way you relate to yourself.
And, for those in the Austin, TX area, Jonny and I will be getting together on Sunday, 11/12 at Casa de Luz for the tradicional Breathwork session, followed by dinner.
Join us in this informal Meet & Greet! ??
2. Quote to Think About
"A beginner is someone who cannot find another way to make a mistake.
A master is someone who cannot find another way to not make a mistake."

One Idea from Me
I can explain HOW you're breathing, but you must discover WHY you're breathing.

3. Sparthos Training Mask
(Despite the creepy look in this photo, I was actually smiling ??)
The Sparthos Training Mask is the Breathing Restriction mask that I've been wearing during several of my bicycle, running, and strength workouts.
It has several valves that help you regulating the volume of air coming in, as well as the speed of air going out.
Something that I found fascinating is that when you exhale, part of that carbon dioxide (CO2) gets trapped in the mask, therefore you inhale it again on your next inhale.
The reason I find this interesting, is that by increasing the CO2 levels in your body, you start becoming more alert (CO2 is a vasodilator).
I won't deny that the first week or so, I got a headache during training because of the mask's properties. If you want to give it a try, I suggest you begin your workouts wearing the mask for 10 minutes first to get your body adjusted to the discomfort, and then increase the time progressively.
Note: If you're concerned about what people might think about you, remember that the entire planet was wearing a mask at some point. They got used to see people doing stuff like this ??.
Give it a try and let me know your results!
