Intern Spotlight: Jomon Joseph, Client Operations Intern

We are excited to introduce Jomon Joseph, our winter Client Operations Intern in the Brokerage Operations team. Jomon plays a crucial role in helping clients achieve financial success and security. Jomon has a keen interest in financial planning and wealth management, which he has been honing through his education. He joined our internship program to put his theoretical knowledge into practice and gain real-world experience.

1. What school do you attend, and what is the name of your program?

I am enrolled in the Financial Planning and Wealth Management Post Graduate Diploma program at Lambton College in Toronto.

2. Why did you choose QFG??

I appreciate the hands-on experience I'm gaining from Questrade, which offers robust services catering to investors of all levels. This exposure will undoubtedly prove invaluable in my career journey.

3. What do you enjoy most about your internship?

I joined the team two months ago as an intern in Client Operations. I am grateful for this organization's support and work culture, and I feel Questrade is like a family. We have opportunities for self-improvement, and the team constantly motivates and supports us. Every person openly welcomes you to share ideas. The free and easy communication flow helps you communicate directly with senior managers.?

The People and Culture team at Questrade actively conducts programs to improve the workplace. They recently conducted a Mock Trading Competition for interns. It was a real success, where we gained hands-on experience in trading. Games are common within the Client Operations team, creating an atmosphere that feels more like home than a typical 9 to 5 workplace. As someone in the early stages of my career, I'm grateful for the support this environment offers for my personal and professional development. The dedication Questrade puts into developing its interns is truly appreciated.

4. A project that you're most proud of?

I'm fortunate to collaborate with an exceptional team of individuals, turning my daily assignments into learning experiences. Projects like foreign exchange conversions have allowed me to apply my knowledge in practice, enriching my skill set. Moreover, coordinating tasks and working closely with team members has improved my management skills.

5. Do you have any tips for future interns?

To all future interns, consider this golden opportunity. Engage with colleagues, immerse yourself in their thought processes, ask questions, share ideas, take the initiative, and most importantly, contribute to making your workplace even more enjoyable.

6. Any interesting facts about you or any hobbies??

I enjoy playing cricket and plan to learn baseball this summer.
