Internship at VeliTech

Finding diamonds is cool, but it's also cool to grow them yourself ?? This is how we found our Oleksandr Podshyvailov, Frontend Engineer, who now works in the team of VeliTech's largest product, VeliHorizon ?? Sasha shared his impressions of his internship with us and what helped him pass it. May his story be useful for you ??

I’ve heard about VeliTech long before I joined the company as an intern. A friend of mine has been working here, and she kept telling me about the team and the products. It was she, thanks to whom I found out about the internship and sent my CV to take a chance.?

The interview was a memorable one for me, especially the test task I got after it. It was non-trivial and focused on the technology stack stated in the vacancy rather than on everything-in-the-world as it usually turns out to be.

My one-hour technical interview, how I felt, lasted 15 minutes tops - it was so interesting that I lost track of time. Though the decision took some time after that, I somehow was sure I would receive an offer.

My internship lasted for 5 months and was divided into 2 parts:

1. Replicating and learning new technologies following the Road Map prepared by the project team leader + topics I wanted to master;
2. Getting to know the team, meeting my mentor, and taking on more complex tasks.

My team leader and mentor helped me throughout the internship, checked my solutions before pull requests, and we communicated frequently. Special thanks to you, Oleksii Bakai and Dmitry Kochnev, for that!

Having completed the internship, I joined the VeliHorizon team, which is the biggest product team at VeliTech.?
