Internship at Stellium - check out Guillaume’s feedback

During our last corporate event (Eclipse), Stellium’s CEO – Etienne Marie - was sharing with the team the responsibility of leading a company where employees decide to start their career path. About being the reference, as a company and as a leader, to people who are making some of the most important decisions of their professional lives.

He made it clear to everyone that it is all about the people. At Stellium it really is. There is no such thing as “business success” if your employees are not motivated to deliver more and better every day. That is only possible when you understand their needs and goals and help them grow as professionals.

This is easier said than done and that is why we could not be happier with the result of Guillaume Anthoine’s internship that ended last week. It was truly rewarding to have him as part of the crew and to realize his feedback on his first work experience.

Guillaume Anthoine – Intern at Stellium?

Guillaume Anthoine is 22 years old, French, and a Master's Student in IT, at Grenoble University.?

The area that attracts him the most is Software Engineering, and when asked what got him into IT, he answered: “The first time I coded was with friends. We got together with some friends to code Minecraft mods. The result was not so great, but I thought it was fun and it sparked my interest in IT in general.”?

Why did you join Stellium??

I was looking for an internship to validate my master’s degree. I thought that it would be interesting to go to Switzerland for a first work experience and word of mouth brought me to Stellium. I checked the company website which looked interesting, and so I got into contact with them directly and joined last May.?

What did you do at Stellium

I joined as an Intern for a 3-month long internship, and I was able to participate in a variety of missions including:??

  • The migration of the new website using tools such as CSS or Elementor, I did some design as well as site maintenance.?
  • A development project on Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) for an internal IT inventory management App?

I also passed my PL-900 MS Certification for Power Platform Fundamentals, and overall discovered what Stellium was doing, their mission and vision, through one-to-one workshops with the IT Consultants.?

What is it like to work with the platforms/tools you worked with?

WordPress??

I had done some WordPress before but in the website’s case there was a plug-in (Elementor) and so it was slightly different from what I used to do. It is a great tool to elevate the design and it simplifies a lot.?

Power Platform??

I discovered Power Platform which was completely new for me, I think it's easy to learn since I was well coached to quickly understand the key principles. I have a developer background and, probably because of that, my initial thought was that low code was limited and had not much potential in terms of development.?

Upon discovering it, I realized it makes coding quicker, and if you need to do complicated things you can customize enough and go deeper. It gives you the bricks with which you can build. You can go further in complexity and today I see it as an efficient tool for some tasks and complementary to "pure" development. I’m sure low code will be more developed in the future.?

?

What haven’t you done at Stellium that you wish you had???

I have no regrets but if I had more time, I would've liked to look at Azure DevOps (ALM Application lifecycle management) more in-depth. Because DevOps is an important part of the ALM and it would have been interesting to go further into it.??

What was the main highlight of your experience at Stellium??

Can I pick 4? ???

  • I was incredibly happy to have done the certification PL-900;?
  • Finalizing the App on which I had worked for 2 months. Having the App working and responding to requirements was rewarding.?
  • Finished on 2 triple 20 at darts and won.??
  • Loved the Lebanese restaurant?

?

Would you recommend a colleague to take his / her internship with us??

Yes, I recommend Stellium to my peers as the first step in their professional life due to the atmosphere as well as the missions that were given to me.?

I feel like I have progressed and discovered the professional life I want to pursue. It was a particularly good first experience in a company.?

?

What is next for you???

I'm going on holiday and then finishing my M2 master’s in software engineering. After that, I'd love to experience working in a foreign country.

Do you have any last words to summarize your experience at Stellium? Last words to your colleagues??

Thank you, everyone, I met at Stellium, I felt integrated and coached and I will come back in a few years to get my revenge at darts.?

The slogan "it is not rocket science" spoke to me as I was well coached to discover new technologies and, in the end, it was indeed not rocket science.?

?---?

Thank you again Guillaume for your commitment, and professionalism, and for being such a valued member of the crew.?The door will always be opened to you ??
