Internship at NuEra Automotive Solutions - Summer 2020

NuEra Automotive Solutions(NEAS) is a software firm providing innovative software services in the automobile retail industry. NuEra is part of the Net Direct group of companies incorporating Net Direct Autos, HCR Lifts, Prioritize Success and NuEra Managed Services. NEAS provides software solutions to support the Net Direct conglomerate and furthermore plans on contributing SaaS applications to the retail industry. Started with a vision to create product and service solutions enabling a new disruptive marketplace for the buyers and sellers within the automotive industry, NEAS has made its vision, a mission.

I was inducted into NuEra to be part of the analytics team pioneered by Murali Kashaboina, a mentor par excellence and a stellar guide, teaming up with my colleague/friend Sujeeth Shetty. The goal was simple, to help the business grow, the most clichéd goals of all, but the path we choose makes all the difference. I was lucky to be part of this gilt-edged team from its inception and I have been working on real time data collection, data mangling and visualization activities. I worked on creating ETL processes to fetch, manage, manipulate and distribute the production data to various destinations (such as Pentaho server and S3 bucket), incorporate visualizations and create reports & dashboards specific to business needs and furthermore presenting the findings and insights to the higher management (who were very enthusiastic and supportive) using the Pentaho BI platform for enhancing the operations.

The kind of exposure I got working in the firm helped me mold a broader perception of the retail industry, automobile sales domain, AWS, Pentaho tools and more. But most importantly I got to know how to be an efficient team player and a great contributor. I could implement the theoretical concepts which I learnt as part of my masters which proved how essential it is to have cutting edge technologies incorporated in the business model. Be it any kind of business, the wonders it can do is unfathomable.

I would like to thank my professors at Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas who are doing a supernal work in molding such a blue-chip work force. My sincere gratitude to Murali Kashaboina, CTO, who is always open to suggestions and who is an experienced and knowledgeable asset to the firm. I would also like to express my gratitude to Sherry Smith, Mehdi Razvi and Anand Damaraju for their continuous support throughout the program. Finally, I would like to thank Keith Halbert, Chief Digital Officer, who is always appreciative of the work we accomplish, for bestowing this amazing opportunity to work for NuEra.
