Internship Journey with IFORTIS Corporate, INDIA

Hello Everyone,

Myself Deepika Goel, currently working as as a Corporate Ambassador in IFortis Corporate and a mentor in Technocolabs as Data Scientist on Internship period as well as doing internship from The Sparks Foundation in Computer Vision and IOT. I am also pursuing my PGC from IIT Mandi (Wiley NXT) in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I like to upgrade my skills and love challenges in life. I am down to Earth person who likes to work for happiness and income/economy is secondary thing. I want a mental peace which I get while enrolling myself in the work.

During this lockdown period, I am eager to learn new skills while enrolling myself in different technical or non-technical internships so that I can use my knowledge and upgrade it while learning something new from those internships. I had seen others posting on Linkedin about how happy they are while getting an internship from IFortis Corporate. I researched about it and found it as a good corporate to start for the career and my good luck is with me at that time that my mentor/HR Josna K. Joseph contacted me to check whether I am interested in this internship or not. I said yes to her and applied for this internship. Later, I do had an interview and background check etc. and then I get a chance to work their as an intern.

I am impressed with the company's enthusiasm and that's why thought to share my experience using Linkedin Platform with everyone.

As a "Corporate Ambassador" intern, I get a project related to "Step Ahead 2021", India's first and largest School Fiesta, hosting by IFortis Corporate on 26th and 27th of June 2021, where students get a chance to showcase their talents and skills on an international platform. Students will surely going to get motivate while watching different age group students talents. It will be an opportunity for them to be a part of this Online World-Wide Platform.

My mentor was Mrs. Josna K. Joseph. She is really a nice person and a good mentor. She always try to motivate me during the poster making time, while letting me know about this internship, how to behave in a professional manner with other team-members. She always fulfill her job and responsibilities in a good manner. She always encouraged me what's right for my career and growth from the starting point of time when I joined as an intern. She has all the qualities of a true "mentor" and I really had learnt a lot from her.

My responsibility was to get participants registered for the International event hosted by IFortis Corporate. I had first made the posters and then send them to my close relatives to make them register. In the beginning I found it as a challenging task but they do understand that it's for their benefit only. So, I make them registered in this event. Later, I reached to my friends and their networks and make them register. Also, I posted on various Facebook Groups where of various schools and posted my poster their but my bad luck, people only shows thumps Up but no one responded back whether they are interested or not. I posted poster on my Whatsapp status, so one person contacted me and told me that he can provide a help to me in getting participants registered as it's a part of good cause. I tried my best to achieve the goal and most importantly enjoyed my work.

We had meetings on a weekly basis where we discussed our progress, challenges and steps that needs to be taken to overcome. As a team, we all try to motivate each others and build a good professional relationship with everyone. Mrs. Josna also conducted activities in between the meetings so that we can showcase our talent and skills, improve our communication skills and organized general and marketing related quizzes in the meetings to update our knowledge. This enables me to come forward and showcase my talent.

Company's future goal: IFortis Corporate is stepping into Apparel Manufacturing Industry (Textile & Marketing) with an ambitious mission to create more employment opportunity for women and youth across India.
