Internet of Things Will Exist, If It Does NOT Exist.

Does it sound like Descartes’ quote?

“i think, therefore i am”

Well, with every one/organization trying to make something in the race of IoT, connected devices space; it is just getting even more confusing for  "common men"- who are directly impacted, and will be the consumers of many such products and services.

So, where is the problem?

"Internet of Things" is NOT an Opportunity.

• "It is an Enabler"- to create- more opportunities.

Opportunities are, in one or many areas:

- to improve one's daily life;  healthcare, travelling, shopping, entertainment, education, safety etc.

- to improve industrial processes; parts failure, human safety, tracking of goods etc.

However, needs to remember; Implementing IoT is not just about implementing a technology. 

Even though the solutions may speak M2M; at the end of day, still, the humans are managing the entire processes and their own lives- as far as we aren't extinct from this earth- we won't, as Descartes quoted.

So, when designing an IoT products or services, remember implementing them require change management; understanding of behavioural aspects-  how we live (will live) our lives, and how we operate (will operate) our machines.

Without  removing a bottleneck (or more) from the life cycle, and without us realizing it, or becomes a part of our habit in the shortest time- it wont work for long.

We already are too distracted with All Things Digital, and have short attention time (getting even shorter), we are forgetting how to write and talk .

While you are hunting to hire the best of data scientists, hardware & software designers in your team to build the next great IoT Product, Platform or Services; you might as well consider engaging a human factor expert, change management expert, an anthropologist, and a kid.

"iot will exist, (only) if it does not exist* ”

 (*i shouldn't even realize that it does)
