Internationalization more important than ever.

There are various opinions on the pros and cons of internationalization on our US Colleges and Universities.

However I believe as a former CEO at four universities (three US and one abroad), that international students are a win-win for American campuses. , my perspective is (as a recent New York Times article pointed out) that international students provide valuable full tuition funding to our campuses but the real value to both our native students and the international students is the opportunities to learn from various cultures and to appreciate our differences in a neutral (university/college) environment. It has also been noted that having a diverse international student population on your campus increases the number of American students who will consider and take a Study Abroad experience. Today, we have troubled times in the world but the ability to learn from each other and to appreciate each other has never been greater.
