International Womens Day - Six Stories!

International Womens Day - Six Stories!

Hello,

Happy International Women's Day.

Sorry today is a bit later than usually, today I was celebrating an event with some inspiring Female Founders in Manchester.

There's no debating that the VC and investment world is slowly waking up to the potential that female CEO's and Founders can bring to the economy. There are so many inspiring early stage women led businesses that I know in the next few years will be changing the world for the better.

Last week, I covered a real gem of a business from Manchester founded by?James Pullen?&?Joseph Shenton. Their business?Joseph James Furniture?is going to smash through £6m revenue this year - founded by two, 22 year olds is crazy.

This week, I'm covering a business which is redefining?an entire sector.?Six Stories?is redefining the bridal market and will be known by anyone who has been involved?in a wedding party in the last 5 years.

Week 5

Founders:?Lucy Menghini?&?Ross Menghini

Based: Altrincham?

Lucy and Ross are a real husband and wife powerhouse. Having tinkered with the idea in 2017 after her own wedding. The couple took the plunge properly in 2019 to scale up the business

Mission:?

Six Stories are redefining the bridal apparel market by focusing on the entire wedding journey. They are more than an apparel brand; they are creating a holistic?experience and cherishing the six moments leading up to that big special day.

They focus on providing high-quality, heartfelt, and trustworthy bridal apparel for every stage of the wedding journey. With a commitment to quality, mindfulness, and emotional connection, we promise to create memorable and fond products for customers.

Forecast:

The more inspiring?part this year they are on track for £20,000,000 (twenty million) in sales.

WOW

A part of this was driven by my own wife last year - as we had plenty of six stories deliveries during my own wedding process last year.

Knowing both Lucy and Ross now for almost 10 years, I can truly say there's no couple I know who complement each other so well and have proven to scale such a fantastic business.

I am seeing more and more husband and wife teams launch companies, a lot of people see this as a risk - but in my mind companies that have 2 founders are more likely to be successful. Not only does it allow you to share the load - but it also allows you to have complementary skill sets of individuals who own and operate the company.?

There is also, in my mind, less risk of the founders falling out - as if you've married - you've already been through so much together.

So the next time your partner gives you a business idea - maybe consider running with it.

To?all the VC and Investors in this note - make sure you are actively supporting female founders, they are part of our future.?

To the female founders on this email - you're an inspiration to future generations already.

Have an amazing weekend,

Dominic?

Thanks Dom ??
