International Women's Day

I’ve been blessed with an abundance of brilliant, strong, intelligent sisters whom I’ve met throughout the roles I play at the UAE Cabinet, the Federal Youth Authority, the Arab Youth Center, and the UAE’s Special Olympics team. Each of them holds a special place in my heart, and has shaped our world far beyond imagination. Their capabilities are endless, their energies boundless. They each occupy roles far beyond their positions in each of these organizations. Some are mothers, others are business owners; some are athletes while others are remarkable artists and musicians. Some lead research teams while others are explorers.

In the UAE, women truly hold up half the sky with strong hearts and strong arms. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the true embodiment of female empowerment, has held every women in this incredible nation close to her heart by ensuring and upholding our rights throughout the country. 

Today, I encourage you to celebrate the hundreds and thousands of women around you, your mothers and sister, colleagues, friends and role models.

Whether it was the women who I’ve worked with in Special Olympics, including athletes, trainers, volunteers and even mothers and sisters championing inclusion at every level.

Or the brilliant young females across the Arab world whom I’ve met through the Arab Youth Center, shaping the new future of the MENA region.

Then there’s my growing community at the Federal Youth Authority, including the remarkable females I have met throughout the hundreds of youth councils that exist or those making their voices heard in every Youth Circle.

And I cannot forget to mention this nation’s extraordinary female leaders, the ministers, directors and CEOs, breaking the glass ceiling and setting an example for young girls all over the world.

Each and every one of them is remarkable in her own way.
