International Women's Day poetry: Our world is our own

Any day is a good day to celebrate and champion the women in our lives, but International Women's Day gives us one more reason to come together for the advancement of gender equality.

This year's theme, #breakthebias focuses on creating a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, and fostering gender equality in workplaces, communities, schools and more.

Here at Ocorian, our global team has put pen to paper to celebrate women in a group-wide poem, Our world is our own. Many of the lines were sent in from individuals across the team and come together to reiterate the importance of breaking the bias. Thank you to all of our resident poets!

Our world is our own

A world that is multicultural,?

A world that is balanced,?

A world that is fair,?

Is a world we can share.?

We shatter the ceilings,?

Break the shackles of stigma,?

We rise together,?

Breathing life into air.?

?

Our world is our own,?

No one else's to tamper,?

Our paths are united,?

Forged with endless ambition.?

Regardless of culture,?

Place, colour, looks,?

If we believe we can,?

And so we shall.?

I will celebrate you,?

I will advocate for you,?

I will empower you,?

This is our promise.?
