As we?celebrate?International Women’s Day 2025,?this year’s theme?is “Accelerate Action”. ?Action is how you get results. This is my?personalized message?to young women out there who are thinking about a career in Legal Technology. ?The technology industry is an exciting, fast-paced world filled with opportunities for innovation and impact. Yet, for young women stepping into this field, the journey to leadership can sometimes feel like an uphill climb. Whether?you’re?just starting your career or aiming to rise into leadership, know this:?you have the power to lead, to innovate, and to break barriers—and the world needs more strong women like you in tech.
Women have been transforming industries and redefining leadership roles for decades. In legal technology, a?rapidly evolving field that bridges law and innovation—women leaders are driving efficiency, advancing eDiscovery practices, and implementing AI-driven solutions that redefine how legal teams operate. Their leadership has not only influenced how legal technology is adopted but also how inclusive and forward-thinking the industry has become.
Women bring unique strengths to leadership positions, making them highly effective in steering organizations through change. Studies show that companies with diverse leadership teams perform better financially and are more innovative.?Some?key qualities that set women leaders apart include:
1. Confidence & Self-Belief?-?Believe in your skills and your worth. Imposter syndrome is real, but?don’t?let it hold you back. Your ideas and contributions matter. Own your space in every room you enter.
2. Resilience & Grit?-?Tech is a challenging industry, and setbacks are part of the journey. Resilient leaders?don’t?back down when things get?tough—they adapt, learn, and push forward. Every challenge is an?opportunity to grow?stronger.

5. Collaboration & Relationship-Building?-?No leader succeeds alone. Building strong professional relationships and knowing how to?work?effectively with diverse teams is crucial. Leadership is not just about individual success—it’s?about uplifting others too.
6. Integrity & Confidence in Decision-Making?-?Making tough decisions is part of leadership. Stand by your values, act with integrity, and?don’t?be afraid to make bold choices. People respect leaders who are decisive and ethical.
The Barriers You May Face? And?How to Overcome Them
As a woman in tech, you may encounter obstacles, but none of them are insurmountable.?Here’s?how to tackle some common challenges:
1. Gender Bias & Stereotypes?-?You may find yourself in male-dominated rooms where your voice?isn’t?always heard.?Don’t?be afraid to speak up, assert your expertise, and demand a seat at the table. Find allies who support and amplify your voice.
2. Imposter?Syndrome??That?little voice in your head saying you’re not “good enough”? Ignore it.?Keep track of your achievements, remind yourself of your value, and remember that you deserve every opportunity you earn.
3. Lack of Representation?-?Seeing few women in leadership can be discouraging.?Remember, be the representation you want to see. Push forward, mentor others, and pave the way for future women leaders.
4. Work-Life Balance Pressures?-?Balancing career growth with personal responsibilities can be challenging.?It’s?very important to set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and remember that success doesn’t mean burnout.?It’s?okay to ask for support.
Finding Strong Women Mentors & Role Models
Not everyone has a strong female mentor in their immediate circle—but that?doesn’t?mean you have to go it alone.
??Seek out mentors in your industry – Look for women leaders in tech, whether in your company, networking events, or online communities.
