International Women's Day 2022 | Stephanie Daley

To round off our celebrations this week, we spoke to Stephanie Daley our award winning Team Leader at Alexander Hall and she sits on the Women at Foxtons Committee. Steph talks about the opportunities she has had and how she has played a part in mentoring other females to be successful within the finance sector.

"Since joining Alexander Hall in 2012 I have grown from a fresh university graduate to a competent leader, award winning mortgage Advisor and advocate and ally for various D&I groups.

Throughout my career I have had strong role models to help inspire and encourage me, both male and female. Being in the mortgage sector our business follows the industry standard with the majority of the sales facing roles being male, this has never been a barrier to me or limited the opportunities I have been presented with.

Being at Alexander Hall has granted the opportunity to get involved in various industry groups, such as the Diversity Inclusive finance forum. Via my role in setting up our own Women’s network - Inspire50 with our Managing Director, Dom Scott, this has opened up opportunity for me to speak to senior women throughout the wider industry and opening up conversations of mentorship, for both myself and other women within the business.

Having prominent role models within the business and the opportunity to liaise with women in the wider industry has given me the ability to thrive and develop into the Advisor and Leader I am today. It has allowed me to develop my own personal confidence and improved my ability to network. As well as helping me to win a British Mortgage Award in 2020 and be a finalist for the Women’s Recognition Award in 2021.

One of the most important things to me is to keep opening doors for women wanting to join our industry and leading discussions on how we can improve female diversity and inclusion."
