THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2022: FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE AND LESSONS LEARNT

*Feed and back* are two great words that assumably can solve humanity and other ecosystems problems. The source and the authentic qualities of the single word are shared through timely and instant communication, which aids to reduce random or systematic errors.

Flashback in 2006; Sen Barack Obama then travelled to Africa to visit his roots as he shared his good news about his insurmountable political journey. I recall one memorable and noteworthy?part of his speech:?"We have enough resources, technology, and what we lack is?Commitment?and? Will."

Another of his great moments I recall in the public domain was during the democratic party debate with his swift come back when asked.

"Do you think Bill Clinton was the first black president of the United States?"

His answer was, "Well, I would have to investigate more to know Bill's dancing abilities and some of this other stuff before I accurately judged whether he was, in fact, a brother."

Analyzing the two moments and many others from an inclusive leadership mindset, President Barack Obama has unique and incredible feedback sharing skills besides his oratory skills which we should all emulate.

The weekend is here now, and it was a great week, with 8th March the International Women's Day. We celebrate our women-driven social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It would be an injustice if we don't share feedback with our ladies who made it a colourful and spectacular?day.

A few months ago, innocent and curious, I asked?Mrs?Edwige A. Robinson, Senior Vice President for T-MOBILE,?can men attend women's Tech conferences? I assumed I would not get an answer, especially since she's at the C-Suite level, while I'm not.

To my surprise,?Mrs Robinson?replied like this;?"I always recommend my male friends and colleagues to attend women's conferences. This is so that they can learn how to manage their female colleagues and become more vigorous advocates for women's causes - such as having an equitable world."

That feedback transformed?my mind. A couple of weeks ago, I met another inspiring woman leader who invited me to attend a women's conference called?Global Leadership Business Conference – Lady Politico Power 8-9, March 2022.

I worked on my faith, courage and when the day came, I was in the conference open to listen, learn and support the mission.

The event was the best thing that ever happened in my life; it was?electrifying, informative, educative, open, inspiring, encouraging and visionary with great ingredients for global inclusive leadership.

I was amazed that all the issues raised were not foreign from what triple minorities like myself or other groups face.?And as speaker by speaker spoke, I started envisioning a solution strategy to conquer our monsters and social inhibitors.

The resolution theory.

The resolution theory demands a tripartite strategy that is;

Program Vision Carriers:?From my two-days evening conference, I observed this group shoot, composed, highly articulate, electrifying, and clear about global inclusive leadership.?

  • They had In-depth knowledge of building a global working framework and structures to support the vision, courageous and ready to face men at the negotiating table.
  • ?Inspiring innovation to transform our world, and lastly, seeing the world as an inclusive knowledge incubator advancing spontaneously and in a homogenous circle.?
  • We need to identify this unique and laser-focused group and empower them with the mandate to conquer the world through negotiations and conflict management instruments working with male colleagues, governments, international organizations and society and large.

Program Structure/ Builders:?As I listened, the program builders emerged in full throttle, burning in all Cylinders; they did not miss an opportunity to demonstrate how to resolve the?puzzle to support the central vision.?

  • Strict, firm on developing policies and laws to govern, clearly identifying roles and responsibilities at all levels, and understanding the key players, stakeholders, and champions.
  • ?Able to comprehend that the corroding cultural engine would require a long-lasting oil to keep us moving and dismantle our entrapment in social structures, self-identity, beliefs, and opposition forces within our society.
  • ?The group has tremendous opportunities for male colleagues to share their expertise and skills.

Resource Mobilizers/Networking/ Inspiring/Coaching/Support and Global Outreach:?

The second day was baptism by fire or, if you like, showered with a lot of love, emotions and challenging experiences mixed with great success stories wholly to?Break The Bias.

  • ?It was unmistakable that speaker after speaker had first-hand experiences, with the great messages of genuine humility, collaboration and collective success.
  • ?Other incredible topics were; bringing things to life, self-confidence, igniting change, getting out of the society box, using your voice, understanding life balance and your environment, reflect on yourself.?
  • Learn evolving and changing formation in our environment and get to know who you're just a few to share.

It was two great evenings where I learned everything I was never taught in a classroom or workplace, especially on inclusive leadership and supporting women's agenda.

As we foster a better world for everyone, we need to strategically form the tripartite team to speed up the momentum, create an impact and command respect. I acknowledge that we need to focus our?energy on?commitment, and?will?to create opportunities for others. Create a trusted community, collaborate with others, face opposition fearlessly, arise to spaces where we can grow as we recognize the power we have within.

A kind message to my male friends; please forgive me for breaking our obsolete cultural standards. Although this is not common, I would encourage you to attend the next women's conference invitation; For our women colleagues out there, please keep on inviting male colleagues; we want to learn, transform and get inspired.

Hi Samuel R.! I am really excited to read this article delving into gender and culture at the workplace. It was encouraging to learn that you benefited from a women's conference. That's important to keep us motivated attending new events. I especially like how you broke down the presenters into their different offerings: Visionaries/Builders/Self-Development. I look forward to thinking about how different influencers fit into one of these categories. I definitely want to know more about the importance of Visionaries and Self-Development in maintaining a movement. I would enjoy hearing more about culture as an engine, that's an intriguing metaphor.
