This is International Women's History Month, and this is a dynamic book of Native American adventure, history, sovereignty, and leadership to read. The main protagonist, Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins, born around 1844, served as an interpreter, negotiator, and scout for the US Army and her people. She uplifts the mantra of her grandfather, Captain Tucker, by welcoming colonizers as White brothers. She did not consider colonizers enemies like her sister and promoted friendly relationships; however, she was not naive about their wrongdoings. Her leadership skills and abilities speak volumes. The US Army often depended on her as a scout and communicating with her people across unknown terrain.

There is nothing I dislike about this ingeniously written text. It is on point, displays realism, not fictitiousness, and is adventurous. All the characters in the text play a particular part, with some being devious antagonists, making the narrative very interesting. Some of Sarah’s people loved her for the benefits she obtained for them, and some despised her for being an Indian woman and working with the US Army. The chapters are poignant, exquisite, mind-elevating, spirited, zestful, and lively. Her articulation regarding the Star Spangled Banner, close to its adoption as America’s National Anthem, goes beyond the call of duty.
For example, America's Attorney at Law Francis Scott Key, a prisoner on a British warship, stepped out on deck one morning during the British losing fight against America to capture Fort McHenry in Baltimore. He looked up and saw the Red, White, and Blue, riddled with bullets and cannon balls, still flying proudly. On September 13, 1814, he penned the poem titled "The Defense of Fort McHenry." It was first recognized for official use on July 26, 1889, by the U.S. Navy when the flag was raised. In 1916, U. S. President Woodrow Wilson signed an executive order to make it the U. S. National Anthem. On March 3, 1931, the U.S. Congress, upon the signature of U. S. President Herbert Hoover, signed it into law as the U.S. official National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner." Her knowledge and visional powers of American history on the "peripheral frontier" cast her in the spotlight and proved her to be an ingenious Native American princess, leader, and woman with great visionary foresight and insight! There is never a dull moment in this text.
This historic Native American text is dynamic and unique. The words flow well in each chapter and synchronize with the next. The thoughtful and descriptive excellence of the author shows God's grace and love in her heart for her Native American people. The essence and narrative of each chapter are significant and uplifting. There is nothing I disagree with about this inspirational book. Reading the exciting lines uplifts one’s aura and persona for more of the unique and creative Native American narratives of stimulating and invigorating historical events. The diversity of lessons generated from the text is relevant.
For example, how to overcome lousy faith, stay on the right track, nourish good roots, avoid trespassing, avoid being trapped in negativity, and stay present-minded and not absent-minded. These actions foster betterment in life and not the opposite. Conclusion: The book’s ending is inspiring and educating. The best chapter is the last, just as Christ's first miracle, creating water into wine at Cana's wedding, was highly praised by all as the best wine being the last. The light at the end of the tunnel will steer one away from a life of mundane darkness.
Living along the previously mentioned positive path, not the negative, will naturally result in incredible resiliency, innate motivation, and inspiration to become a shining star like Sarah.
This awe-inspiring text of phenomenal and unprecedented adventurous inspiration is a must-read for all to immerse themselves in the paradigm of intoxicating Native American adventurous tapestry. Most definitely, this book is recommended to my friends, associates, and loved ones to read and be rejuvenated from the dynamic and linguistical discursive index of the lines therein to enhance their minds, bodies, and souls to a greater level of functionality with Native’s culture, sovereignty, history, community, and humanity.
