International Women In Engineering Day - Michiyo Tsubooka's Insights on the Importance of Safety and Her Aspirations as an Engineer

Today, on #InternationalWomenInEngineeringDay, we are proud to celebrate and recognize the remarkable contributions of our talented female engineers at #Terumo Interventional Systems. This year's theme, "Make Safety Seen," resonates deeply with our commitment to prioritizing safety in everything we do.

During a recent interview, one of our engineers in the R&D department, Michiyo Tsubooka, shared her insights on the importance of safety and her aspirations as an #engineer.

“Treating illnesses and managing health is the main goal of #MedicalDevices, and ensuring their effectiveness and safe usage in medical settings is crucial. My commitment to my work comes from a strong desire to assist #HealthcareProfessionals in providing safe medical care to everyone in society. I want to provide them with the tools to approach complex procedures with confidence and offer reassurance to patients and their families.

Our priority at Terumo is to make sure healthcare professionals can use our products with confidence and safety. To achieve this, we subject our products to rigorous evaluations that simulate real-life medical scenarios, assessments under demanding conditions, and comprehensive risk analysis.

My personal dream is to bridge healthcare disparities through the power of medical technology. I envision a world where patients from all corners of the globe can receive safe medical care and have peace of mind. I’m committed to developing medical devices that offer treatments that are friendly for both patients and healthcare professionals, and I’ll continue working tirelessly to make it a reality."
