BHA Awards honour outstanding achievements in hydropower
The BRITISH HYDROPOWER ASSOCIATION LIMITED(BHA) unveiled the victors of the BHA Awards at its Annual Dinner during the Conference this week. Gilbert Gilkes and Gordon Ltd was named the victor in the Historic Renovation category, Jon Needle won in the Services to Industry category, and VerdErg Renewable Energy took the prize for Design and Innovation.
Global pledge on renewables and energy efficiency launched at COP28
The World Climate Action Summit witnessed a significant milestone on Saturday as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen launched the Global Pledge on Renewables and Energy Efficiency. In collaboration with the COP28 Presidency and joined by representatives from 118 countries, this groundbreaking initiative sets global targets to triple the installed capacity of renewable energy to at least 11TW and double the rate of global energy efficiency improvements from roughly 2% to an annual figure of 4% by 2030.
Masdar and EDF forge partnership with Kyrgyz Republic for 3.6GW of hydropower and renewable projects
