Hydro Tasmania CEO Ian Brooksbank announces departure, interim changes at Entura
Hydro Tasmania Chair Richard Bolt has revealed that CEO Ian Brooksbank will be stepping down from his position on October 3rd, marking the end of an era for one of Australia's prominent renewable energy companies. A recruitment process for a new CEO is expected to start in the coming weeks. Entura , a subsidiary of Hydro Tasmania, also announced interim changes within its management team. Tammy Chu , the longstanding Managing Director, will assume the role of Hydro Tasmania's Interim Executive General Manager Construction, overseeing the implementation of the Battery of the Nation program. Dr. Amanda Ashworth has been appointed as Acting Managing Director for the company. The interim appointments are slated to end in December 2024.
CNR selects Cosmo Tech to enhance asset management
French renewable energy producer CNR (Compagnie Nationale du Rh?ne) has entered into a five-year partnership with Cosmo Tech , an AI Simulation and Enterprise Digital Twins software company. The collaboration aims to enhance CNR's asset management efficiency, supporting its strategic and tactical planning decisions with advanced AI-Simulation software.
Milestone marked at Punatsangchhu-II hydroelectric project, Bhutan
Initial reservoir filling has started at the 1020MW Punatsangchhu-II hydroelectric project in Wangdue, Bhutan, with the project expected to be commissioned this year.The milestone was marked in a ceremony on 21 February 2024 presided over by His Excellency Dashi Tshering Tobgay, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bhutan, alongside His Excellency Shri Sudhakar Dalela, the Hon'ble Ambassador of India to Bhutan.
Zungeru hydropower plant nearing completion as testing begins
The?Zungeru?Hydroelectric Power Plant in Nigeria has entered a crucial phase as testing commences, according to Federal Government announcements on Sunday, newswires have reported. Situated in Niger State, the $1.3 billion project has now been successfully integrated into the national grid, refuting previous claims suggesting otherwise. Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, provided insights into the project's significance, emphasizing its potential to generate 700MW, making it the second-largest hydroelectric facility in Nigeria following the Kainji Dam.
Glendevon Hydro Scheme in Scotland sold to Renfin & Hydropol Group
Glasgow-based Torishima Service Solutions Europe Ltd has sold the assets and operations of the Glendevon Hydro Scheme in Dollar to Renfin & Hydropol Group, with legal advice provided by Harper Macleod LLP . The small hydropower scheme, constructed by Torishima in partnership with Scottish Water in 2022, was one of the first of its kind in Scotland when built.Torishima specialises in the design, manufacture, assembly, installation and maintenance of a range of mechanical, hydraulic, cooling and lubrication systems to a European customer base.
