Once you’ve established that a person cannot impose their beliefs on others, you can decide whether you want to engage with the person further. Knowing that you are unlikely to change the person's mind, ask yourself, is this a “Good fences make good neighbors” situation or a “Let’s sit down and break bread together” situation? Read Kim Scott's latest Radical Respect newsletter to learn how to move away from coercive expectations that we can “make” a person believe what we believe and toward a productive, collaborative resolution that respects the other person’s beliefs and individuality. https://lnkd.in/gMK-8CsC #radicalrespect #radicalcandor #Leadership #Communication #ConflictResolution #WorkplaceCulture #avtivelistening #invitationalrhetoric #rogerianargument

In 2017, Susan Fowler Rigetti's blog post about her experiences at Uber sent shockwaves through Silicon Valley and sparked a crucial conversation about workplace culture. Her subsequent memoir, Whistleblower, revealed deeper insights about the true cost of staying silent in the face of systemic injustice—and the power of speaking up. This week on the Radical Candor Podcast, we have a Radical Respect crossover episode with Kim Scott and Wesley Faulkner talking with Susan Fowler Rigetti about the importance of keeping receipts and how to speak truth to power. #Podcast #Leadership #WorkplaceInclusion #RadicalCandor #Whistleblower #RadicalRespect #WorkplaceCulture https://lnkd.in/gNM6qRdF

In today’s fast-paced work environment, practicing kindness can sometimes be overlooked—but it’s often the small, intentional acts that make the biggest difference. Here are three simple yet impactful ways to show kindness to your colleagues and build a more connected, supportive team: Start with a Genuine Compliment – There’s real power in a sincere compliment. When you notice something remarkable about a colleague’s work or attitude, take a moment to call it out in a way that’s specific and heartfelt. Acknowledging their unique strengths shows you truly value them. Listen to Understand – At Radical Candor, we emphasize the importance to “listen with the intent to understand, not to respond.” Take those few extra moments to truly hear what your colleagues are saying. Ask follow-up questions, nod along, or give them space to share their ideas. Listening deeply fosters trust and makes people feel seen and appreciated. Offer Support – Whether it’s lending a hand, giving advice, or just being there to listen, showing up for others can make all the difference. If you notice someone juggling a lot or sense they’re feeling stuck, offer a helping hand or simply ask, “Is there anything I can do to support you?” These small gestures of kindness create a culture of mutual care and make your team stronger. Kindness in everyday interactions strengthens relationships, builds trust, and boosts everyone’s morale. What small act of kindness can you practice today? Let’s make kindness a daily habit! Try these tips and watch how they positively shift your team dynamics! #KindnessAtWork #RadicalCandor #TeamBuilding #PositiveCulture #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership

In high-stress situations, your leadership approach can make all the difference. Here are three ways to keep your team grounded and connected: 1. Stay Calm and Communicate Clearly – A steady presence during tense moments can reassure the team. Staying composed and clear minimizes confusion and brings stability. 2. Acknowledge Emotions, Don’t Ignore Them – High-stress moments often bring strong emotions. Show compassion by acknowledging how people feel. This builds trust and makes it easier to move forward together. 3. Focus on Solutions Together – Shifting from problems to solutions can empower the team. Collaborative problem-solving strengthens unity and morale. Leading through challenging times is about creating an environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and supported. Which of these steps do you find most helpful during stressful times? Let us know in the comments! #Leadership #StressManagement #RadicalCandor #TeamSupport #ClearCommunication #WorkplaceCulture
