Real estate ownership is a common ambition, the concept getting even more appealing when it concerns a heavenly location. In 2020 we managed to acquire our own paradise property.

It had been a long term dream for us to have our own estate in Mexico, and more precisely, in the ocean-front Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

This place had a special significance for my husband, being the setting to many of his memories of teenage and early adulthood excursions with his companions. He was enamored with this picturesque, coastal town, giving off French Riviera vibes, in the shadow of the Sierra Madre Occidental and home to the second deepest bay worldwide.

Early in the pursuit of our ideal estate, we regrettably invested a five-figure sum into a fractional real estate ownership, proving to be unreliable and leading to the total loss of our investment in the course of two years. This overwhelmingly unfortunate experience took a serious economic and emotional toll on us, almost destroying our faith in our life-long dream. We were reluctant to re-venture into investment, but our desire to achieve our aspiration was more powerful.

We secured a mortgage on our primary residence, and began to explore investment opportunities in Mexico, where, following numerous trips and inquiries, we discovered our dream apartment. Nonetheless, emotions must not overpower logic when real-estate is concerned. Thus, in the end of the negotiation process, we had managed to obtain our dream property, and to settle on a reasonable financial agreement. The required amount perfectly matched the budget provided through our mortgage, encouraging us to move forth with the contract.

Securing this first investment gave us the necessary knowledge and reassurance to continue seeking covetable property deals, making prompt offers, and ensuring financially advantageous agreements. In this manner, we managed to acquire an array of profitable rental properties, ensuring our family’s ongoing financial security and advancement.
