International Happiness day (as per UNO March 20th)
Happiness is the most desired and beautiful feeling,a day to commemorate happiness is bliss. Since 2013, 20th March is being celebrated by the United Nations Organization as the International Happiness Day.Happiness is the best way to realize the importance of life, realizing this fact the general assembly of the United Nations in its resolution 66/281PDF document of 12 July 2012 proclaimed 20 March as the International Day of Happiness. Happiness is a feeling of well-being, which is part of universal goals and aspirations in human lives around the world. The importance of recognizing happiness in lives of people through public policy is the objective of International Happiness Day.
Every year since the day's inception campaigns and slogans are undertaken for charity action with the aspiration of Happiness. The first International Day of Happiness was celebrated in the year 2013, The year themed smiles around the world, the purpose of the Day of Happiness Project was to unite happy people of all nationalities and religions under non-religious moral code outlined by 21 precepts like take care of yourself, love and help children, set a good example, do not harm a person, good will, improve & safeguard environment and treat others as you would want them to treat you. All the purpose has been directed towards a concept of living a happy life.
2014 The second International Day of Happiness was promoted with the world's first 24-hours music video with the song "Happy". Global citizens around the world were part of the music video to create a song to make the first ever globally crowdsourced global music video of 24 hours. The year advocated ‘24HoursofHappiness’, with which 24HoursOfHappiness.com was set up to rise funds.
2015 The third International Day of Happiness, promoted "Happiness is your birthright" by directing actionsfor climate change. The Google home page created a takeover that was received by more than 3.5 billion impressions. Further, Google also initiated a campaign with Pharrell beingpopping up at random and dancingwith the google hangout feature. The campaign 'Your Happiness Is Part of Something Bigger' was coined in the year 2015 with flash-mobs in 12 cities across the world. The campaign focused on the importance of human connection in the context of the epidemic loneliness and isolation in modern society. Creatinga positive social action to help create a happier and more caring world was the ultimate goal.
2016 The fourth International day for happiness for the first time a special role was given to the measurement and consequences of inequality in the distribution of well-being. Among the member countries and regions happiness indicator of human welfare was put forth beyond income, poverty, health, education, and good government measures. The year also focused on Climate Action for a Happy Planet. With animated ambassadors, awareness was raised about the importance of climate action for common future. 2017 The fifth International day for happiness had the SpeakHappiness.com offering two free workbooks to all visitors.The workbooks encompass of "One Day of Fluent Happiness" and "Happiness in the Workplace Every Day," acknowledging that unhappy workers are cost for companies.The main reason for campaign was the companies that lost productivity, who were seeking solutions to counter the effect.To commemorate the celebration every day, Marilyn Harding, author of ‘Exhilarated Life: Happiness Ever After’ gave copies of her Happiness 11 handbook for free.
2018 The sixth International day details will be updated with the #International Day Of Happiness. HappinessDay.org, the official website of the International Day of Happiness is managed in partnership with the United Nations to promote happiness as a fundamental human right and goal. The action plan is directed to preserve the values and principles of the UN, with sustainable development parallel to happiness resolutions.
