International Film Festival Prague/Febiofest postponed to later date in 2020!!!

?Of course we were already aware for some time about hosting a public event in times of spreading COVID-19. So we have been working on alternative scenarios for some time and were in constant touch with our guests and right-holders about the current situation.

But after yesterday’s direction by Czech government we had no other options than to postpone the festival to another date, not to endanger our international guests or national audiences! It's very important to note, that the 27th edition of Febio is not cancelled, but postponed. We’re checking with all involved parties new possible dates, which will be most likely second half of September 2020. 

Then next years 28th edition will run regularly from March 18-26 2021.

We are in touch with all of our guests among them Woody Harrelson, Oren Moverman, Hirokazu Kore-Eda, Agnieszka Holland, Ivan Trojan, Sarka Cimbalova, Atom Egoyan, Alexander Rodnyansky, Maria S?dahl, Mustafa Shehata, Jessica Cressy, Ivan Ostrochovsky, Teona Strugar Mitevska, Ulrich Thomsen, Klim Shipenko, Hans Petter Moland, Dieter Kosslick, Katriel Schory, Julia Sinkevych, Pavel Strnad, Ewa Puszczynska, Mariusz Wilczynski, Tudor Giurgiu, Bernd Buder, Tiina Look, Jay Jeon, Ahmet Boyacioglu, Peter Rommel, Erwin Wagenhofer, and hope the new dates will work with their schedule.

We will try to secure our original film program - especially the Main competition, our new competition for comedies and our tribute/retrospective sections. We are already in touch with the right holders, invited directors, producers and actors to represent the films and will announce shortly our new dates.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, very grateful to all our partners and involved parties for their support and are sure that the Prague audience will get the best of world cinema in Febio Fest’s upcoming 27th edition."
