This International Day of Women and Girls in Science, get to know Brooke's Global Animal Health Advisor Izzy
Brooke, Action For Working Horses and Donkeys
Creating a world where working animals have a life worth living.
Although Izzy works as Brooke's Global Animal Health Advisor, she originally trained and worked as a veterinary surgeon. In fact she recently received a '30 Under 30' award at the London Vet Show! Therefore we thought she would be the perfect person to chat to this #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience
In the videos shown in this blog, we ask Izzy some questions about her experience of working in the veterinary science field and how this has applied to her role at Brooke.
To start with, we asked Izzy what inspired her to get into a career in veterinary science and animal welfare.
We then asked her why she thinks science is important for working animals.
If you've ever wondered what role women and girls play in improving the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules, Izzy provides some insight when answering our next question.
Have you ever thought about pursuing a career in veterinary science or animal welfare? If so, Izzy has a few tips that might just help you make that a reality!
All the work done by our Brooke staff, both in the UK and overseas, is important to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules. Therefore our final question to Izzy was what has been her proudest moment of working for Brooke so far.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to Izzy Hocking for answering our questions and sharing these insights with us. Feel free to share your own experience of getting into the world of science or animal welfare in the comments! ????????????
