International Day For Biodiversity
The ‘International Day for Biodiversity’ is observed on May 22 to raise awareness about the significant loss of biodiversity caused by human activities and the urgent need to undertake collaborative action to address this issue. The decline in nature threatens the survival of approximately 1 million species out of the world's estimated 8 million, thereby posing challenges to the survival of billions of people. Given this situation, the global community must make strategic investments and establish clear goals to mitigate biodiversity risks. This year's theme for International Biodiversity Day is ‘From Agreement to Action – Build Back Biodiversity.’

These targets primarily focus on land conservation, restoration of degraded ecosystems, and systematic investment to bridge the gap in biodiversity finance.
