The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) participates in conducting US-based International Victim Identification Surge.
The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) recently played a significant role in the US-based International Victim Identification Surge, known as Operation Renewed Hope II. This operation, a follow-up to the first Operation Renewed Hope conducted in August 2023—which successfully identified 316 child victims of sexual abuse—was carried out from February 26 through March 8, 2024, at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Cyber Crimes Center’s Child Exploitation Investigations Unit.?
It achieved remarkable results, generating over 414 leads worldwide related to child sexual abuse, including 285 foreign and 129 domestic leads. The initiative was a collaborative effort involving the world's foremost experts in online child sexual exploitation and abuse investigations, as well as in child victim identification, highlighting ICMEC’s victim-centric approach.
