Internal Notes — November 2023

Internal Notes — November 2023

Greetings, and a warm welcome to the inaugural edition of Internal Notes - Yarsa Labs’ Monthly Newsletter.

Following the resounding success of our recent short article series, "Plugs and Pixels," unveiled during the vibrant festivities of Tihar over four days, we felt compelled to forge stronger connections with our valued users and readers. Our objective is to deepen engagement and share even more captivating content.

Every day, there’s something new brewing at Yarsa. However, providing those updates daily is impossible (that’s what we keep daily logs for ??). Recognizing the perpetual narrative of our work, we decided to launch a monthly newsletter to ensure everyone remains abreast of our endeavours starting this November.

Here goes the first edition…..

November was a busy month for us at Yarsa, to say the least. Everyone was occupied with their own tasks, but we all had one thought in common in the back of our heads - Tihar vacation.

Multiple deadlines and releases approached us as always, but we were looking forward to the holydays. Recognizing the adeptness of our team and anticipating a well-deserved respite, the teams consistently excelled in meeting deadlines with finesse.

Here’s a short recap if you missed our key moments from the past month.

We collaborated with our colleagues at Yarsa Tech and Yarsa Games to bring you Plugs and Pixels. It was one of the biggest highlights of November as it gave birth to our LinkedIn newsletter (after a series of events).

Coming together to create content was a fun experience for everyone who participated as we learned more about the origin and hardships the team faced while working on some of our most thriving projects.

We hope you all enjoyed the content discussing the evolution of four of our proudest and most successful products (so far).

Plugs and Pixels - A Short Article Series

Check out our short-article series if you missed out on them. We hope to keep bringing you more behind-the-scenes stories from our various teams in the future.

Checking in with our AudiQR team, they shared that the distribution of eSpeaker has started. Working diligently on production and distribution, our team is on the brink of completing the first rollout of AudiQR, proudly Made in Nepal. Additionally, with Nizi Power out in the wild, the team has received the initial market feedback and has been consistently working on the device’s improvements as well.

NJ Subedi, our CEO, has also teased AudiQR Mini for performing transactions on the go in a LinkedIn post. This mini version of Yarsa Tech’s creation aims to solve transaction confirmation issues that mostly outdoor users, like food delivery and ride-sharing service providers may face.

Rumour has it that a wearable tech POC is also in the works ??.

On the other hand, our game devs have been consistently working on improving your game experience. With neverending bug hunting and issue fixing, they’ve also introduced new features in our games. November was a month of modification for the team.

Mighty Survivor Force has levelled up its excitement with added animations and other fun updates. If you’re already a player, don’t miss out on the revamped experience. If not, what’s the holdup? It's up for grabs on the App Store and Play Store — time to join the fun train!

New Updates: Added Re-Roll Button, Character Preview and Revive Button
For our card game lovers, the Marriage card game is out on the App Store. Read more about it on Yarsa Labs News.

In the vibrant work culture of Yarsa, we have cultivated a tradition of documenting our work in the form of blogging to help others tackle the same problems we face.

Yarsa Labs DevBlog serves as a treasure trove of tutorials and insights, showcasing the collective expertise of our incredible team. True to DevBlog’s form, submissions for the month of November were nothing short of captivating content full of knowledge and expertise on a diverse spectrum.

The top-performing blogs were very interesting for this month. With CLUE: Towards a JSON-based Isomorphic Schema and API for Persistence taking the spotlight due to its informativeness about managing software development teams, Recipe for Creating a Compelling Game Narrative charmed the readers with its creative approach to writing, and Ethical Considerations in War-themed Video Games stood out as a compelling opinion piece talking about ethical consequences of war-themed games, sparking thoughtful discussions among our audience.
