Internal documents reveal Camp Pendleton's water woes predated summer inspection by EPA

Just another small sample of water infrastructure problems all over the country, they design and build structures that require too much and expensive maintenance to maintain drinking water quality.

Strange that the EPA is so concerned about 1 military base whilst ignoring the fate of 8 million residents of one of the largest cities in the US claiming their water storage tanks are not regulated by the SDWA.

It is sad that the water industry cannot get past its "we have always done it this way" habits to unlock real value in new emerging technologies. It will be a lot more cost-effective and it might just give them a chance to catch up to their chronic and growing infrastructure shortfall.

Recently, in Dec 2017 a 1MG elevated tank contract was awarded with a 100-year lifecycle cost of $M 23.7, who can afford that? certainly no small or medium water utility, but they buy these projects anyway as they get handed taxpayer money on a platter. By replacing the same 1MG tank twice after every 40 years, our price tag for the same would have been less than $M 7 (present worth) for pristine water quality.
