Internal Audit Prioritisation Guidance

CTU internal auditing functions generally have limited resources and therefore the studies and systems/processes chosen for internal audit often require prioritisation. However, although there are a number of risk-based approaches for other areas of clinical research, there is very little guidance on how to apply a risk-based approach to audit prioritisation.
The QA Operations Group therefore developed some information to help bridge that gap. The work provides guidance on how a risk-based prioritisation tool and strategy might be designed and includes a template prioritisation tool that can be adapted for local use.?The tool is supported by a short video describing how it can best be used.
