Intern Spotlight: Yair Shpiler
Join us as we meet Yair Shpiler, who recently completed his internship as a? Data Governance Analyst intern in our IT & Cyber Governance, Risk & Control department. During his time with us, Yair assisted in developing policies and frameworks to protect and maximize data value. Yair is passionate about the intersection of policy, data, and technology, and was excited to be working on projects that helped Questrade continue to innovate and grow.
Yair explains, “In my early teens, I developed a keen interest in investing and personal finance. I took an active role in political and communal engagement, learning about and advocating for personal finance initiatives, and researching relevant legislation. This path led me to Questrade, where I am proud to work in an environment that values innovation and customer-centricity. Although my role is internal and not client-facing, I feel the customer centricity in every decision, coffee chat or team meeting I take part in.”?
He continues, “As an intern, I came with the goal to learn as much as I can about the company and industry during my summer here. Thankfully, my colleagues were always ready to answer any questions, and when they didn’t know, they directed my requests to other members of QFG. Every single Questrader I spoke to was willing to share about their work, and was available for coffee chats and emails. I really appreciate how everyone across QFG thinks enterprise-wide, and teams work together to help Canadians be more financially secure and successful.”
