LML Lift Consultants is seeking an energetic, motivated and diligent Intern to assist in our Project area (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering student) to work alongside our Senior Project Managers.
This is an exciting, unique, paid opportunity, where you will get the chance to learn from some highly experienced industry-trained Consulting Engineers and learn about managing Lift and Escalator modernisation / replacement projects.
The Intern, with the guidance and assistance of our Senior Project Managers, will have the responsibility to assist in managing and supervising administrative, technical and financial aspects of a variety of Lift and Escalator projects, as assigned.
The Intern will report directly to a Senior Project Manager, and some specific duties would include, but not be limited to the following: -
- Identify project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, and deadlines.
- Assist Senior Project Managers in overseeing project schedules, milestones and project costs.
- Obtain project status updates from Contractors and team members.
- Learn how to use various software packages, to efficiently manage projects.
- Implement and improve current project management systems and processes.
- Measure the project performance to suggest areas of improvement and assist with adjustments.
- Preparation and assisting in the issuing of documentation (such as Letter of Intent, Practical Completion, Witnessing of Testing, Defects, Minutes).
- Completion of pre-project dilapidation Reports.
- Organise and schedule team meetings (internal and external).
- Liasing (conduit) between Contractor and Client and provide regular project updates to all stakeholders.
- Preparation of Works Contract.
- Reviewing of Shop Drawings to ensure compliance to Technical Specifications.
- Reviewing of Contractor’s WHS management plan and SWMS.
- Site inspections to review works and ensure project is on schedule.
- Preparation of Reports and Minutes.
The right candidate will have great organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
