Intermediate Accountant

Accountant sought to work for dynamic software company with a worldwide footprint. Our client boasts an impressive client base having secured multiple projects across various sectors. Their growth into Europe has been exponential which equates to a busy finance team handling complex accounting functions. As such they are looking for an Intermediate level Accountant to join their team and be responsible for the full internal accounting function of several entities. This includes managing recons on all accounts; handling annual budgets; administrating all cashbooks including foreign bank accounts and petty cash; reconciling and posting all month-end journals; preparing and maintaining various general ledger reconciliations monthly; managing the annual audit together with the Financial Manager; ensuring all intercompany confirmations agree and are accurately completed on the reporting software; manging fixed assets; and processing monthly payroll journals. To apply you should have a BCom Accounting degree and have completed articles with 5 years’ relevant experience. Your experience should include working for an international company in the IT or Services Sectors. You should be equipped to handle the accounts for foreign entities and have group company and consolidating experience. You will need to know how to compile monthly intercompany confirmations and invoicing and be able to handle rates, conversions, loss, FTRs, etc. Strong IFRS expertise is essential. The role will call on your strong finance-based analysis skills. Since you will be involved in the full accounting function you must be able to handle day-to-day bookkeeping and complete a trial balance up to balance sheet and prepare management accounts. You should be well versed in Pastel Evolution and proficient in Word. Knowledge of Payroll Sage People will be an advantage. Given that reporting is a key function, you should have a strong database exposure with superb Excel skills which includes Pivot tables and advanced formulas. SQL would be a huge advantage. The role would suit an excellent communicator who is self-motivated and positive and is able to function well under high seasonal pressure. You need to be a team player.
