The GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) interiors and fit-out sector is projected to experience strong #growth in the coming years, with the market expected to reach $5.2 billion by #2025. This growth is attributed to factors such as a population boom, increasing urbanization, and the expansion of the construction and real estate industries. These insights were shared in a report released before the Index 2023 #expo in Dubai.
Index 2023 is a prominent event that focuses on interior design, fit-out, and construction. During its run from May 23 to 25, leading firms will explore the future of the multi-billion-dollar #interiors and fit-out market.
The regional interiors and fit-out sector is anticipated to grow by around 5% annually over the next five years, as indicated in the Index: Business of Interiors commercial outlook report produced by #dmgevents, the organizer of the three-day exhibition.
The United Arab Emirates (#UAE) is identified as the largest market for interior design in the GCC region, followed by #SaudiArabia and #Qatar.
Elaine O’Connell, Vice President of Design & Hospitality at dmg events, mentioned that the sector is facing challenges such as the shift towards sustainability, digital transformation, and e-commerce growth.
Apart from the exhibition, the Index Design Talk, features discussions among #influential design figures, including interior designers, architects, and creative thinkers, who will engage in conversations about the latest trends and #innovations. The event is attracted over approx 17,500 professionals.
Index is not only an exhibition but also a platform for knowledge sharing and #networking within the built environment. It showcases a wide range of global products, design concepts, and technologies under one roof.
In addition to the exhibition, the Retail Leadership Forum offered insights from experts in the retail sector, catering to senior retail buyers and leaders seeking intelligence and critical discussions about consumer trends, logistics strategies, and procurement techniques.
A new highlight this year was the inaugural edition of the 'Index Student Competition,' a nationwide University Challenge aimed at supporting the next generation of architects and designers.
