Interfaith Weddings are a joy to officiate

A Rabbi and I officiated a Muslim Jewish wedding, which went seamlessly. Working with Rabbis, Pastors, Pundits, and people of other faiths has been a pleasure. However, most of the weddings I have officiated combined the role of clergy from both traditions and the civil part. It is a complete wedding - either interfaith or religious.

God created the world in harmony, and all (he/she/it) he wants is that we preserve that harmony for our good. Indeed, God puts love between two souls, bringing them together, and fulfilling that relationship comes through marriage.

Like the birds and whales that travel thousands of miles to their nesting place, God has built-in GPS in humans that brings them together. They fall in love, and marriage is the ultimate milestone of that relationship.

Religions don’t marry each other; individuals do. Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, and other traditions are intangibles and not beings. They are certainly a catalyst in turning a man and a woman into caring humans and exemplary citizens.

This weekend, I am looking forward to another wedding within a Religion, and it is between a Shia and a Sunni Muslim.
