Purpose-driven security strategist helping businesses build resilient, effective security programs
I have never been in an organisation that just understands the need to be secure as much as Pinsent Masons does. Yes, we're already certified to ISO 27001, but that's not enough. We need a Pinsent Masons Security Framework, not just something off the shelf.
That's what we're doing, in the last five months, we have developed a custom security strategy targeted to protecting our clients and the partnership. This has been endorsed and supported by our Board and we're now embarking on a huge programme of work to improve our security controls and bring some superheros on board. Those in training are also welcome!
We're focusing efforts in four key areas:
- People - Training, Awareness and Engagement activity that encourages the right behaviours and makes things enjoyable and relevant. Using content that significantly raises the bar and engages our people. Oh, and schwag, plenty of schwag. That's the free giveaways, not the strain of cannabis!
- Supply Chain - Ensuring we understand the risk in our supply chain, downstream with our vendors and business partners and ensure we're working upstream to offer the right level of assurance.
- Governance and Assurance - The heart of any good security program ensuring we're operating as we should be and working with the teams to improve our practice.
- Technical Security - Dealing with IT Security basics of identity and access management through to front line threat hunting with industry leading technology and business partners.
The team is growing, but we still need more (8+) motivated and passionate people to join our team. Especially in roles to help us with our Supply Chain (Manager and Analyst Roles) Team, IS Governance and Assurance (Manager and Audit Roles) and Technical Security (SOC / IR Manager, Puzzle Solvers, Threat Hunters, IT Security, Application/Platform Architecture Security).
If you're looking at breaking into the industry or fancy a change in direction, we're hiring on behaviour, attitude and interest. Of course, if you've picked up a CI-Double-SP along the way that's great, but qualifications and post-nominal accolades will only get you so far.
We'll have a kick-ass (people still use this term, right?) development plan to get you on your way, flexible working, relaxed working approach and support and opportunity to work with some great industry vendors and some great technology.
Roles ideally will be located around Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester here in the UK. That said, we're a Global Security Office so Google our office locations to see where your next trip could take you. I'm a firm believer, work is something you do, not somewhere you are! You’ll be rewarded for your efforts and I’m confident our salaries, bonus, holiday and other benefits will please.
I'm keen to hear from superhero's in training, that are looking for that next step and supportive environment in which to develop and evolve your skills and craft. It's going to be hard work, but we will have some fun along the way too.
