An interactive children's book ”what’s this hole?; animals in the soil” by Dr. Hironori Sakamoto

Outreach Activity: An interactive children's book ”what’s this hole? (Konoana-Nanja in Japanese); animals in the soil” writtend by Dr. Hironori Sakamoto, illustrated by Mr. Tomoya Mizoguchi, was selected as one of the books for Cultural Materials for Child Welfare Recommended in FY2023 by Children and Families Agency, Government of Japan.?

This is a series of pop-up picture books for infants and toddlers that introduce them to an unknown world based on the theme of holes.

  • Lots of holes in the tidal flats
  • Holes in the ground in the familiar places
  • Holes and "footprints" left in the soil

What on earth is (or was) living in them??

Experts will present these mysterious creatures and their ecology, rarely encountered in everyday life, with much love and care.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the "encounter with the unknown" that awaits them every time they open the book!?
