Interact Preview | Don't Squat with Your Spurs On: Top Ways to Kill User Adoption
A recent?survey with ALM revealed?that more than half (58%) of respondents reported accelerating their legal tech adoption due to the events of 2020-2021. With many teams implementing new solutions (some for the first time), it's been an intense learning period.
It can also be a lot of pressure to introduce a new solution to your department or monitor its performance. A significant concern is that the technology could flop despite considerable potential if nobody uses it— or misuses it.
Without further ado, here are three common ways to kill user adoption according to our community ( and how to avoid them). We hope you can join us for our expert panel covering this topic at Interact 2022 in August!?
The “One-and-Done” Introduction
Don’t info-dump a presentation or PowerPoint of overly-technical information on your team and expect them to understand the technology.
Depending on the size of the change, users will need continuous education and exposure through demos, training sessions, Q&As, and more to optimize their experience.
The better your internal communications plan looks, the more equipped you’ll be to expand adoption continuously.

The Laissez-faire Approach
It’s not enough for your users to know that you’re there to lend support— you have to actively offer it to see your adoption rates increase.
Be sure to engage with users beyond the minimum necessary for the maintenance— reach out frequently and keep them up to date on current and future enhancements.?
The Bulldoze Effect
User feedback and suggestions are essential, which is why owner-designed systems are often a little off the mark when it comes to driving adoption.
Be sure to allow time to cater to those burning questions or concerns that people are flagging. It’s essential that your users feel heard and that their top issues with the technology are addressed sooner rather than later.
Our Interact team will be going deeper into those three reasons (and an additional two) during our session deep dive on August 15, 2022. Join us in Nashville, TN (Music City) for actionable, immediate insights on how to refine and optimize your technology adoption, including:
