Intentionally, Transparently Unique cont

A large percentage of the population is afraid to be unique, instead of pretending to be someone they’re not. It could be a Midwest thing, a blue-collar attitude, fostering your “old soul”, but I suspect it’s bigger than that. On the other hand, many of the younger generations are so unique they are cast aside.

What does this mean?

A lot of people aren’t true to themselves. They lack a critical sense of self-awareness. Transparency. Feeling comfortable in your own skin.

It makes me wonder if there is a connection to our personal circle of influence. Do they bring out your best side? Or remind you of it?

Internal self-awareness is introspective. It’s what happens when we know ourselves well.

External self-awareness is what happens when we correctly understand how others see us.

2020 taught us a lot we didn’t know about ourselves. We’ve embraced not beating around the bush on things - uniquely direct and to the point.

In the business world, there is a lot of weight in knowing and trusting someone before doing business. The world today values a higher level of relationship in the business world than in past years.

This need, this concept, is why I am so passionate about DFW Nonprofit Resource Group and why I chair it. We foster each other. Our passion for what we do and for the success of others is electric.

Being “infectious” has a bad contention these days, so be enthusiastic about your passions, or bring back the positives with being infectious and contagious.

Be self-aware and transparent.

Be unique
