Merriam-Webster terms “intentional” as a “determination to act in a certain way: Resolve.” Servant Leaders lead from a mindset that embodies servitude, humility, good stewardship, loyalty, dedication, devotion, place respect and dignity of all individuals.?
Intentionality is very important. Children act and react based on intention.?When they’re hungry, you’ll know it because they will tell you.?When they’re sad, no worries, they will alarm you by crying or by being quiet.?Employees aren’t as quickly willing to be truthful about their concerns regarding their Leaderships’ willingness or ill-will to divulge information.
However, Servant Leaders that are truthful and transparent; they don’t hide things from Employees, especially when there’s a negative impact concerning them. Servant Leaders would prefer to lead by example and readily answer questions, giving the most updated information. They are compassionate and considerate.
When Leaders are intentional, without being pushed or threatened by their local Union or governing body. The work on creating a culture built on intentionality. Employees that know that their Leadership is honest are more prone to be equally as honest and openly share their thoughts about how the company’s standing. A culture of intentionality will take a company from good to great. Out of intentionality, a company can become an Industry Leader.
